Readers should be able to trust every review on this site. Here's how we work.

Samples and gifts

Some fragrances we review are sent by the perfumer. Others we buy ourselves. Every review says which.

No paid reviews

We don't accept payment for coverage, and perfumers don't see reviews before they're published.

How we test

We wear each fragrance on skin, on more than one day, before writing about it. Reviews describe the opening, the drydown and how long it lasts, because a scent is more than its first ten minutes.

We don't earn a commission when you buy something we write about. Links to perfumers' shops are there so you can find their work, nothing more.

Corrections

If we get a fact wrong, we fix it and note the correction at the bottom of the piece.
